The AirFit N20 is a nasal mask; the AirFit F20 is a full-face mask. They are therefore not simply two versions of the same interface.
AirFit N20
ResMed describes the N20 as a nasal mask using an InfinitySeal cushion, flexible frame and quick-release elbow. A nasal interface may suit users who can comfortably breathe through the nose during therapy.
AirFit F20
The F20 channels PAP airflow through a full-face interface and can be relevant when mouth breathing is part of the therapy situation. Its user guide describes use with CPAP or bilevel systems.
Important magnet warning
Current ResMed documentation includes contraindications and warnings for masks with magnetic components. Check the latest user guide if the user or a close bed partner has an implanted medical device or other relevant metallic implant.
How to choose
Compare breathing route, leak pattern, cushion fit, headgear comfort, sleeping position and clinician recommendations. Avoid choosing only on price or assuming a full-face mask is automatically “stronger.”
